For the first time in the history of independent Ukraine, the country was represented at Gothenburg’s annual book fair (the largest literature festival in Scandinavia) in collaboration with Eunic (EU National Institutes for Culture). Together with leading cultural institutions in Europe, books by Ukrainian writers were presented for the public. During the first day of the fair, a discussion with Peter Jonsson was held, author of Ukraina i historien, the first book of Ukrainian history in Swedish. The opening ceremony was also visited by the Ukrainian Embassy’s cultural attache Irina Bytyaha. The following day, Roman Romanyshyn and Andriy Lesiv, writers and illustrators of the Kriget som förändrade Rondo, revealed how to present serious subjects to children. The events dedicated to Ukraine were organized by the Ukrainian Institute in Sweden.
